BELLE CHEN

Since moving to London in 2011, Australian-Taiwanese pianist Belle Chen has distinguished herself with live performances & recorded works that are unbound by tradition - often mixing classical music with soundscapes, improvisations and electronica. She was voted by a luminous panel from the UK music industry as the winner of the classical music category at 2015 London Music Awards.

She is a jury-selected official showcase artist for 2018 Classical:NEXT. In the same year, she is elected as Associate of Royal Academy of Music.

Belle’s performance schedule has included a wide range of festivals and venues - from BBC Radio 3 70th Anniversary, Latitude Festival, Roundhouse, Melbourne Recital Centre, to Cafe Oto.

Her imaginative approach to integrating classical music idioms is reflected through recent collaborations, which include music commission for Edeline Lee AW17 presentation at official 2017 London Fashion Week, EDM collaboration with Dutch VJ Maarten van der Glas, and improvisation performances with Chinese virtuoso percussionist Beibei Wang and UK jazz giants Orphy Robinson and Cleveland Watkiss.
